Explore the versatility of Builder Sculpting Gel and why it is one of our top selling products! Builder Sculpting Gel is a powerful tool used in creating stunning nail looks and there are countless ways to use it.
We carry two formulations of Builder Sculpting Gel, both available in a clear and a pink shade. Builder Sculpting Gel is our original formula of Builder Sculpting Gel while Builder X Sculpting Gel is an improved formula, created to provide extra strength to nails (that is where the X comes from) and has reduced heat spikes.
Here are our 5 favourite ways to use Builder and Builder X Sculpting Gel.
1. GEL OVERLAY OVER NATURAL NAILS
Builder Sculpting Gel is perfect for creating a stronger foundation for any nail design. It provides strength to nails, while creating a strong smooth surface for a flawless colour application.
2. SCULPTED GEL NAIL EXTENSIONS WITH SCULPTING FORMS
Create any nail length and shape with the use of Builder Sculpting Gel and Sculpting Forms. This is an advanced technique that allows you to add length and shape nails without the use of artificial plastic nail tips. You are quite literally building and sculpting out nail length with gel, using the Sculpting Form as a canvas (that will be removed later).
You can also download the step-by-step written instructions here.
3. GEL NAIL EXTENSIONS WITH PLASTIC NAIL TIPS
An alternative method to create length with Builder Sculpting Gel is to use it in conjunction with artificial plastic nail tips. This technique may be quicker than gel extensions with Sculpting Form as it is more like a gel overlay on natural nails after you glue on the tips and sand & blend them down (you are not necessarily building length with the gel). Whichever sculpted gel extensions method you choose, both will allow you to achieve length and shape to give clients and yourself the look the desired look.
4. FIX A BROKEN NAIL
Fixing a broken or cracked nail with Builder Sculpting Gel is a simple and effective way to restore the look and strength of nails. The strength that Builder Sculpting Gel provides can ‘seal’ and ‘repair’ any crack in the nail. If you have broken a nail completely off, you can use Builder Sculpting Gel to create length (see point 2 and 3).
5. ENCAPSULATE CHARMS
Encapsulating charms with Builder Sculpting Gel is a fun and creative way to add dimension and personality to your nail designs. The Builder Sculpting Gel acts like an adhesive where you can place your charms and gems into and you may add another coat thin coat of Builder Sculpting Gel over the charm to encapsulate.
Products used: 266 Prize Every Time, 270 Merry-Go-Round
Overall, Builder X Sculpting Gel is a must have product for any nail technician. It’s versatility and strength make it an essential for creating beautiful nail looks.

I just finished an index finger nail with Pink Builder X. It was broken amongst otherwise ready-for natural nail overlay. Now this index fingernail is ‘prettier’ than the others because there was that extra little bit of length for filing it without worrying about losing strength at the corners, whups! I did #4. Perhaps next time it will be #1 or a #2!
Has anyone else happened to notice that Pink Builder X is close to Pink Sky? Handy. :) Curious what others have noticed is truly the closest..
I can’t wait to try out BSG’s builder gel! I love that it’s a soak off product and I’ve heard it self levels perfectly!
The builder sculpting gel has been very useful in fixing my broken nails!!
I have not used any gels yet, have just started using the dip powder kit and am loving it.
Would definitely like to give the gels a try.
I love that this can be used to patch up a broken nail! I hate having all of them long and one short so would provide a great fix.
I’m looking forward to trying the Builder X Sculpting Gel. It sounds like it is a really great product and should reduce the time it takes to do a set of nails as it’s much stronger sounding that applying multiple coats of Top Coat :)
I use the pink builder gel as an over lay for all my manicures! It is the perfect consistency, making it easy to apply even for beginners. It is also such a nice base colour and provides great strength to the nails. It is my favourite of all time!
The pink builder gel is one of my favourites and go-to for a natural overlay or extension . It’s the perfect shade of pink and feels so natural on the nail. Love the versatility!
I have not yet used the builder sculpting product but I’d love to have some on hand for when I break a nail (fingers crossed that doesn’t happen for a while) and also I’d like to try it with charms.
I haven’t used it but I would definitely like to try it out
