Which BSG LED/UV Lamp is Right for You?
A LED/UV lamp is one of the most essential tools one can have in their gel nail arsenal. Without a LED/UV lamp or a traditional UV lamp, gel products will not properly cure (a term which means dry and harden) and you are bound to face the horrors of lifting, peeling and chipping gel nails. Bonus, as you read on, you will find out that at Bio Seaweed Gel we have a unique gel product that can cure SolarCure with no lamps required – more on this later!
WHY AN LED/UV LAMP OVER TRADITIONAL UV LAMP?
Bio Seaweed Gel offers two different lamps, the U-Light Pro 6 and the Glow Mini Lamp, both of which has LED/UV bulbs (rather than the long UV bulbs found in traditional UV lamps) and both lamps can cure most gel polish currently on the market (disclaimer to always double check the label on your gel polish and see if It can cure under an LED or UV light).
There are a number of benefits to choosing an LED/UV lamp over a traditional UV lamp but the main reasons we personally enjoy using LED/UV lamps over a UV lamp are:
- Faster curing times with LED/UV lamps. When curing our UNITY All-In-One Gel Polish or any of our 3STEP Colour Gel Polish (Rhinestone and PHASES included) it only takes 1 minute to cure using an LED/UV lamp vs. 2 minutes in a UV lamp.
- More hours of use than UV lamps. With LED/UV lamps we find that they last a lot longer than traditional UV lamps before losing curing efficacy. With traditional UV lamps the hours of usage is not as high as their LED/UV counterparts, plus you have to replace the bulbs in order to maintain optimal curing strength.

The Unity All in One Gel Polish sounds amazing!
I use the Glow Mini. It’s perfect for moderate use and doesn’t take up too much space!
I have the glow mini, it’s so cute and compact. It’s fits perfectly on my desk! Great for me as I am a beginner. 🥰
I think I would like the u-light pro 6 more than the mini, I like the watts on the pro 6 and the different times button. I just feel that a mani can be done faster with the pro 6 but the mini would be good for those who like to travel and take it with them.
I have an LED lamp from another polish brand, but I love using BSG because the application is so easy, and the finish is always so nice!
I purchased the U-Light Pro 6 recently and I love it! Cures my gel polish so quickly and saves so much time compared to my old lamp!

I tried curing unity so in pink under the sun and it actually cured! I was so impressed there was no stickiness after just about 10 minutes of hanging out in the sun. The bottle is also effective at blocking out sun light while I did my nails on the beach. Overall, I had a great experience with my unity gel polishes.
My friend has the glow mini lamp and it works well! I have one similar to the U Light and I definitely like it but its almost too strong as I feel the light on my skin – maybe there can be like fingerless gloves that can be made for protecting the skin against the light! :)
