The Gentler Way to Remove Gel Polish at Home

Issue No. 003

Hello and welcome to Beyond the Paint, a blog by Bio Seaweed Gel (BSG).
Each Wednesday we will be releasing new content that will discuss all things nails and more.

THE GENTLER WAY TO REMOVE GEL POLISH AT HOME

Just like us, you may have started doing your own nails at home due to the temporary closure of your favourite nail salon because of the pandemic. While we may find joy and relaxation in painting our nails, removal of painted nails is definitely one the more tedious tasks and highest risk for damaging your nails if done incorrectly. Lucky for you, UNPOLISHED Gel Mask Nail Remover makes the removal process simple and gentler on your nails, leaving you with healthy and perfectly unpolished nails, ready for your next nail look.

What is UNPOLISHED?

UNPOLISHED Gel Mask Nail Remover is the first non-drip gel mask that removes nail lacquer, gel polish, dip powder and sculpting gel. This patent-pending formula is an acetone-based gel that softens the product on your nails, allowing the nail product to be gently pushed off and lightly buffed off with a soft grit buffer, like a Professional Gel Buffer (Note: if you are removing nail lacquer, there is no need to buff and you can simply wipe off with a Lint-Free Wipe). This is not a burst remover gel, but a gel mask that softens nail product by layers and with multiple applications. Like the rest of BSG’s products, UNPOLISHED is also big-5 free, cruelty-free, vegan friendly and with an added bonus of it being paraben-free.

Why UNPOLISHED?

Although it is an acetone-based removal product, UNPOLISHED does not have a strong unpleasant smell of acetone nor does it dry out your nail plates or skin, when compared to the traditional acetone soak off removal method. It also requires less tools when using- so you can forget your aluminum foil, cotton balls and bottle of acetone. Just grab UNPOLISHED, an orangewood stick, a gel buffer and you’re good to go. Unlike the traditional gel removal method, where you have your nails soaking in acetone or nail foil and cotton wrapped around each finger, UNPOLISHED ease of use allows you to apply with both dominant and non-dominant hand. Its non-drip gel mask formula allows for a little more freedom and mobility so you can change that Netflix show, or reply to that text you forgot about, while you wait for the mask to work it’s magic.

How to use UNPOLISHED?

Click here for full instructions, tips and tricks on how to use UNPOLISHED. It is important to note that although UNPOLISHED is intended to remove all types of acetone soak-off products, our instructions and listed soak-off times are based on BSG products only. Use on any other brands may require varied instructions and timing.

Below is also a video on how to use UNPOLISHED as demonstrated by Diana Nguyen (@ricekittynails). Make sure you watch until the end for a special giveaway to win your very own UNPOLISHED.

If you can’t wait to get your hands on a bottle of UNPOLISHED and would rather purchase than test your luck to win, check out the UNPOLISHED Removal Kit. I cannot wait to give unpolished a try! I change my nails so often, and acetone really dried it out, so I’m really looking forward to incorporating unpolished instead :) plus it will cut down on my waste produced everytime I do my nails.

I will DEFINITELY be giving UNPOLISHED a try. I’m looking forward to using a polish removal that is free of the big-5 chemicals & vegan friendly.

I’d definitely love to give this product a try!! Looking forward to less mess and easier removals 😍

This product looks amazing! I love that it only works on the nail and not the surrounding finger tips. Once my acetone supply is finished, I will definitely be giving this a try!

Jen January 30, 2021

I’m using another product that is pretty good (comes off within 5 min, one application and minimal scraping) and am curious to see how this compares!

I started dipping my nails just before pandemic and am so glad to have found BSG! I’m super excited to try unpolished and really hope it cuts down on removal time.

I can’t wait to try this! I do my nails at home with gel polish or dip powders and I dread taking it off. Acetone is just not working for me! I end up just peeling it off which is SO BAD for my nails! My nails will thank you BSG!

As someone who does their nails at home, I can’t wait to try out UNPOLISHED. Although I love doing my own nails with BSG polish, I always complain about the removal. I can’t wait to have a quicker removal method which doesn’t trap my fingers in nail foils!

I’m intrigued by it. I love that there is less waste(no cottons thrown out for every finger) and think it would be great for soak off pedicures. I haven’t ordered yet because I have lots of my acetone to go through first but I am definitely considering that for the future. Such a neat product and idea :)

Would love to try this new product. I am just wondering if it is a good option to use on clients with sensitive skin/ eczema?
